Anthropic commits 5% of its shares to a new public benefit fund
Anthropic announced the creation of the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a wholly owned entity that will initially receive 5% of the company’s shares, subject to stockholder approval, with the potential to add another 2% for every 50% increase in company value above a baseline.
Structured as an LLC, the fund will support initiatives such as charitable donations and assistance to populations affected by AI-driven economic changes, without using its equity for lobbying or political contributions.
Anthropic estimates that approximately 20% of its shares will be dedicated to the public good when the new commitment is combined with existing founder and employee equity donation programs.
The company plans to disclose further details about the fund’s governance and valuation milestones in the coming months.

AI uncovers critical RCE vulnerabilities affecting 70% of the Internet
Wiz Research disclosed critical vulnerabilities in PHP’s core engine that can enable unauthenticated remote code execution and exposure of sensitive process memory, potentially affecting websites running PHP versions dating back to 5.4.
The flaws, tracked under CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, were demonstrated against WordPress, Drupal and Joomla, and PHP released security patches on October 21, 2026.
Researchers used frontier AI models to identify the flaws and develop working exploits, reducing the time and specialized effort required to exploit longstanding memory-safety issues.
Wiz coordinated with the PHP team, OpenAI, Calif and major technology providers on patch verification, detection and mitigations, and recommends immediately updating affected PHP deployments.

Swiss Physical AI startup Enact Intelligence exits stealth with €26.68 million backed by Yann LeCun and Arthur Mensch
Zurich-based Enact Intelligence emerged from stealth with a €26.68 million ($30 million) pre-seed funding round backed by redalpine, Notion Capital, firstminute capital and angel investors including Yann LeCun and Mistral founder Arthur Mensch.
Founded in March 2026 by Manuel Yves Galliker, the startup is developing robots that combine visual perception with force sensing built directly into their actuators, aiming to improve dexterity and reliability in physical tasks.
Its 12-person team includes talent from DeepMind, 1X, Amazon Robotics, Physical Intelligence and ETH Zurich.
The funding will support a fivefold increase in team size by the end of 2027, further hardware and R&D development, and deployments with industrial partners across manufacturing, infrastructure, retail and food processing.

NVIDIA’s AI hardware market faces the threat of massive oversupply
The rapid expansion of AI infrastructure is creating a potential mismatch between purchases of NVIDIA servers and the electrical capacity available to operate them, leaving some equipment in temporary storage while data centers await grid connections.
According to the report, Amazon planned to accept $5 billion in computing systems in a single month and continue receiving $3 billion monthly, while facing rising capital expenditures and pressure on free cash flow.
Industry estimates suggest that $200 billion to $300 billion in AI equipment could be awaiting installation, although this figure has not been independently confirmed.
Prolonged infrastructure delays could reduce returns on hardware investments and force companies to revise spending plans, but the risk of a broader market correction will depend on electricity capacity expansion and sustained demand for AI computing.

Google ordered to halt work on Finnish data centers after clearing an estimated 250,000 trees before environmental review
Finland’s Licensing and Supervision Authority ordered Google subsidiary Tuike Finland to suspend environmentally significant preparatory work at planned data center sites in Muhos and Kajaani until the required environmental impact assessments are completed.
The order follows the clearing of an estimated 250,000 trees at Muhos and other site modifications that regulators say could affect the environment before their impacts have been assessed.
The projects form part of Google’s €13 billion investment in Finnish AI infrastructure, announced in September as its largest single investment in Europe.
The suspension allows planning and other low-impact, reversible activities to continue, amid growing public calls in Finland for stricter data center regulation and compensation for environmental and resource costs.
